BMW has finally revealed their upcoming Sports Activity Coupe to the world in all its gold and silver glory and AutoBlog has uploaded the whole album.
Though the 2018 X2 is called a coupe, this crossover is more practical as a daily driver thanks to its hatchback-like proportions. Rear headroom could be better as the X2 is 3.2 inches shorter and 2.8 inches lower than the X1, but the 21.6 cubic feet cargo space is not bad and thatís with the rear seats up. Lower those seats and the space increase to 50.1 cubic feet.
Customers can choose from 11 paint colors including Galvanic Gold, Sunset Orange and Misano Blue. Contrasting trim colors only comes in either grey or black, depending on the trim.
Standard features include LED lighting, BMW's iDrive infotainment system, 6.5-inch display, a set of 18-inch wheels and more. Those who want a bit more can opt for 19-inch wheels, navigation package that comes with an 8.8-inch unit, automatic cruise control, or a full-color heads-up display. Thereís also a Driving Assistance Package which installs lane departure warnings, speed limit info, automatic high beams and front and pedestrian collision warnings.
The base model X2 will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine delivering 228 horsepower and 228 pound-feet of torque.
Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, those ponies are transferred to all four wheels for a 0-62 mph sprint time of just 6.3 seconds before topping out at 130 or 143 if the M Sport X package is added.
Set to appear on showroom floors next spring, a base model X2 will only set you back $36,985.
