2018 BMW X2 Rendering

auto-moto.com came up with a rendering of what the BMW X2 could look like and the lower/side intakes are noticeably smaller.

If that's how it actually comes to market looking like that, then i'm afraid that Audi will have them beat by a large margin with the all-new Q2...

Minus the black fender flares, Audi's Q2 is quite the looker.

The Q2 looks a lot more sophisticated than the X2 rendering does. They gotta do something with those rims though. I definitely would want to see if there was an option where you could get body matching flares though.

Fortunately we're just seeing a rendering of the X2.
If BMW can bring on more coupe styling to production similar to the concept, it will position them well as far as design goes.
Personally, I want more coupe styling.

That's just a rendering from an automotive publication and bears no weight on the actual X2 production model. the side air intakes are just hideous in the rendering with how square they are and the lower grille slats looks cheaply made. Only the kidney grille and headlight looks decent since they're taken from the BMW concept model.

Definitely, they literally took the concept and just toned it down slightly. Really wasn't much changed from it. The black roof carrying over to the top of the tail gate does look good though.

Well if you look at how current BMW SUV's/CUV's/Crossovers are designed, it does start to hold weight. This isn't just what someone wants it to look like, it's bringing together what has already been established with the X4, X1 and so on.

That would apply to the general models, but BMW seems to be trying to break out of their X lineup mould so could we really base the X2 rendering off of what already exists?

How are they trying to break out of the X line up mould? I thought they were just getting started? The only thing that had to break out of a mould was the X6 and that was slight at most. Even thing else has taken after the X6.

Here's a rendering from X-Tomi and it looks pretty great. It still has a few features from the concept model but more toned down and production ready.
